REGER, M.: Organ Works, Vol. 7 - Symphonic Fantasia and Fugue / 7 Organ Pieces (E. Krapp)
Max Reger is regarded by many as the greatest German composer of organ music since Bach. This seventh volume of his organ works (earlier releases are available on Naxos 8.553926, 8.553927, 8.554207, 8.555905, 8.557186 and 8.557338) features the challenging Symphonic Fantasia and Fugue, which Reger claimed to be the most difficult work he had ever written for organ, and the Seven Organ Pieces, written variously for important festivals in the church year, in memory of the victims of World War I and in celebration of the homeland.
