Quintet Itsuki is a wind quintet formed in 2021 by five principal players from leading professional orchestras in Japan and Europe. In 2024, they were awarded the Special Prize for the Best Interpretation of the Commissioned Composition at the 73rd ARD International Music Competition in Munich. The name Itsuki means “tree” in Japanese, symbolizing both the five woodwind instruments and the members’ deep connection to their heritage. The ensemble draws inspiration from traditional Japanese values, while striving to bring fresh life to the woodwind quintet repertoire on the world stage
