In 'Jounce', cellist and performer Alexandra Hallén navigates a visceral landscape of memory and physical extremity. From the intimate, self-soothing vocals of Simon Løffler’s 'Graduale' to the jagged, amplified distortions of Jexper Holmen’s 'Vespa Crabro', this recital inhabits a world of psychological depth and fevered hallucination. Hallén pushes her craft to its limit, culminating in the title track’s use of two bows to arrive at a space where it is as if the fever breaks.
