Hussain Baksh Gullu’s musical education came from his father Baba Nathu Khan (a student of Fateh Ali Khan [Patiala]) and his elder brother Ghulam Hassan. Hussain also learnt under the guidance of Salamat Ali Khan. He was awarded ‘Pride of Performance Award’ by the Government of Pakistan. His playing style has characteristics of both the Shaam Churasi and Patiala Gharana traditions.
