Brothers Badar-uz-Zaman and Qamar-uz-Zaman are prominenet performers from the Kasur Gharana tradition. Their musical education was given initially by Haji Faiz Ali, followed by Chotay Ghulam Ali Khan, Nizar Bazmi and Iftikhar Khan (of the Delhi Gharana). They were awarded the ‘Pride of Performance Award’ by the Government of Pakistan.
They are equally proficient in kafi, geet and thumri genres and have written books including Nawa e Mauseqi, Sada e Mauseqi and Sada Rang. They are also associate professors at the University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan.
