Aliya Rasheed, who is partially blind, was Pakistan’s first professional Dhurpad singer. She was taught by the likes of Uma Kand Gandecha, Rama Kand Gandecha, Mubarak Ali Khan, Sara Zaman and Shabbir Hussain Jhaari. She has performed on numerous international stages and currently teaches at the National College of Arts in Lahore, Pakistan.
