About Michele Angelini, Tenor (Corradino)

Tenor Michele Angelini made his European debut at the Rossini Opera Festival, and appeared in the world premiere of Benoit Mernier’s Frühlings Erwachen at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie, Brussels. He has appeared at major opera houses including the Metropolitan Opera, the Bayerische Staatsoper and the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. He was awarded First Prize in both the 2010 Savonlinna Opera Festival and the 2012 Gerda Lissner Foundation International Singing Competitions. Performances in the 2018–19 season included Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Staatsoper Berlin and Il viaggio a Reims in Moscow.

Soprano Sara Blanch made her debut in Albert Carbonell’s Lisístrata at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, and has appeared in Il viaggio a Reims with the Accademia Rossiniana, and as the Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte at the Teatre La Faràndula. In 2015 she made her Rossini in Wildbad debut in L’Italiana in Algeri and Il vespro siciliano (8.660440-43), winning the Audience Prize of the Bel Canto Academy. In 2016 she appeared in Le Comte Ory, and in 2018 performed in Il Turco in Italia in Oviedo, where she also appeared in the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor.

Bass Shi Zong graduated from the Odessa National A.V. Nezhdanova Academy of Music, and also completed the Young Artist Programme at the Centre de Perfeccionament Plácido Domingo. He made his debut at the Rossini Opera Festival, and has since sung under distinguished conductors and collaborated with leading directors. Previous roles include Sparafucile (Rigoletto), Raimondo (Lucia di Lammermoor) and Haly (L’Italiana in Algeri), with performances in China and opera houses throughout Italy. Awards include First Prize at the Deiva Marina International Vocal Competition and the Special Prize at the Premio Boni International Vocal Competition.

About Victoria Yarovaya, Contralto (Edoardo Lopez)

Victoria Yarovaya was a singing pupil of Galina Vishnevskaya. She participated in masterclasses with Riccardo Muti, Mauro Trombetta, Mimi Coertse and Irina Bogacheva. In 2009 she took part in the Accademia Rossiniana in Pesaro under Alberto Zedda and made her debut as Marchesa Melibea (Il viaggio a Reims). In 2009 she joined the Kolobov Novaya Opera in Moscow, and in 2010 she sang Zulma in L’Italiana in Algeri under Alberto Zedda at the Moscow Conservatory. She has performed at Glyndebourne, the Opéra Lille, Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg and at Rossini in Wildbad.

About Emmanuel Franco, Baritone (Aliprando)

Mexican baritone Emmanuel Franco recently made his debut at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe in Le nozze di Figaro. A second⁠-⁠year resident artist at the Opéra Studio of the Opéra national du Rhin, he has worked with numerous eminent conductors and performed across Europe, recently appearing in Rossini’s L’equivoco stravagante at Rossini in Wildbad. Franco studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Dutch National Opera Academy, and was a quarter finalist in the 2016 Operalia Competition in Guadalajara, Mexico. Recent engagements have included Il barbiere di Siviglia with Tijuana Opera and his debut with Wexford Festival Opera.

Baritone Giulio Mastrototaro’s appearances include Il barbiere di Siviglia in Saint⁠-⁠Étienne under Alberto Zedda, multiple engagements at the Salzburg Whitsun Festival under Riccardo Muti, Un giorno di regno at the Verdi Festival in Busseto and Tosca at the Teatro alla Scala, Milan. Recordings include Donizetti’s Pietro il Grande and Adelia, and Cherubini’s Lo sposo di tre, marito di nessuna. His collaboration with Rossini in Wildbad include the Naxos releases of La cambiale di matrimonio (8.660302), La gazzetta (8.660277-78), Don Chisciotte (8.660312-13), L’Italiana in Algeri (8.660284-85) and La gazza ladra (8.660369-71).

French mezzo-soprano Lamia Beuque was a prizewinner of various international competitions, she made her debut while still a student in L’Étoile and Rusalka at the Geneva Opera. From 2013 to 2015 she was a member of the Opera Studio of Strasbourg Opera, where she appeared in Il matrimonio segreto, Fauré’s Pénélope and Dukas’ Ariane et Barbe-bleue. She has also performed at the Santa Cruz Opera in Tenerife, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Theater Freiburg and the Opéra de Lausanne. More recently she appeared in Mignon at the Innsbruck Regional Theatre.

Chilean bass-baritone Ricardo Seguel made his debut at the age of 21 in La traviata at the Teatro Municipal de Santiago. He has also appeared in operas including Nabucco, Rigoletto, Tosca, Carmen, Tristan und Isolde, Lohengrin, Dialogues des Carmélites, Thaïs, Lakmé, Les Pêcheurs de perles and Simon Boccanegra. From 2006 he began to specialise in buffo roles, including Mozart’s Leporello and Figaro, Donizetti’s Don Pasquale and Dulcamara, Rossini’s Don Bartolo, Don Basilio, Selimo and Mustafà, as well as Don Prudenzio in Il viaggio a Reims, Alidoro in La Cenerentola and Melitone in La forza del destino. He has appeared at major opera houses in Spain and South America.

About Julian Henao Gonzalez, Tenor (Egoldo / Rodrigo)

Tenor Julian Henao Gonzalez studied at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien, winning various prizes. He made his debut as Saboyano in the zarzuela Luisa Fernanda at Medellin. His repertoire includes Handel’s Ariodante, Mengone in Haydn’s Lo speziale, Don Ottavio in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Remendado in Bizet’s Carmen and Nemorino in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore. His concert repertoire includes various cantatas and Masses by J.S. Bach and Mozart. In 2016 he joined the Youth Ensemble of the Theater an der Wien.
