2025 International Opera and Latin GRAMMY Awards nominations
September 30, 2025We’re pleased to report that the Naxos and Grand Piano labels feature among the nominations for the latest International Opera and Latin GRAMMY awards.
In the category for Recording (Complete Opera) of the International Opera Awards, Naxos receives the nomination for its March 2025 audiovisual release of Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin (2.110777 / NBD0185V), in which Laurent Pelly’s renowned stage direction and costume designs support a line-up of distinguished soloists: “Making his [title] role debut, Stéphane Degout is wonderfully aloof as the buttoned-up Onegin, his rich baritone rolling out phrase after phrase smoothly, his Russian diction superb.” (Gramophone)

Two other fine recordings feature in the 26th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards, both in the category of Best Classical Album. First is a guitar recital from the Naxos Laureate Series (8.574623), with the nomination acknowledging both Spanish guitarist Ausiàs Parejo, winner of the 2022 ‘Alhambra’ International Guitar Competition, and compatriot José Luis Ruiz Del Puerto, the album producer: “[A] masterful recording, both musically and technically.” (MusicWeb International)
Also cited is Grand Piano’s solo album Kaleidoscope (GP944) which features Spanish pianist Isabel Dobarro in a programme of contemporary works by an international line-up of female composers: “Dobarro plays beautifully throughout, with impressive facility, a lovely tone comprising a wealth of colours and dynamics, and affecting, sensitive phrasing.” (Fanfare)
Congratulations to all involved in the production of these noted releases as we await the announcement of the winners.
