From seventeenth-century England to twentieth-century Canada, this recording includes a number of favourites, including Hear My Prayer, Mendelssohn’s best known contribution to church music. Also included are Cesar Franck’s exquisite Panis angelicus and the choral arrangement of Elgar’s Nimrod variation, here transformed into a solemn memorial tribute.
