GABRIELI: Music for Brass
Giovanni Gabrieli was one of the leading composers of the late Renaissance in Venice. His most famous work is the ‘Sonata pian’ e forte’ for eight wind instruments, which makes much of dynamic contrast. Gabrieli’s many similar works remain among the cornerstones of the wind repertoire to this day.
