Claudi Arimany was born in Granollers near Barcelona (Catalonia). He is considered one of the most prestigious Catalan soloists with a great international projection.

He has performed as soloist with artists like J.P. Rampal, M. Nordmann, F. Ayo, M. Maisky, N. Zabaleta, V. de los Angeles, C. Scimone, C. Orbelian, V. Pikaisen, M. Larrieu, J. Suk, A. Nicolet, J.J. Kantorov, Borodin Quartet, as well as with some of the most important orchestras such as the English Chamber Orchestra, Berlin Philarmonic Chamber Orchestra, New York Philharmonia Virtuosi, Borodin Quartett, Franz Liszt Budapest Ch. Orchestra, Israel Sinfonietta, Ensemble Orchestral de Paris, Symphony Orch. of Prague (FOK), Orchestra Internationale d´Italia, Zagreb Soloists, München Bach Orchestra, Moscow Chamber Orchestra, Stuttgart Kammerorchester, China National Symphony Orchestra, European Union Ch. Orchestra, Amadeus Chamber Orchestra, Virtuosi Italiani, Prague Chamber Orchestra, Berliner Kammerorchester, the Czech Philharmonic and among many others.

Claudi Arimany has given concerts throughout Europe, Russia, United States, Canada, Israel, Lebanon, South America, Kazakhstan, Thailand, China and Japan, performing in some of the most important concert halls such as Chicago Symphony Hall, Washington Library of Congress, Carnegie Hall in New York, Boston Symphony Hall, Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, Beethoven House (Bonn), Wiener Konzerthaus, Palais Auersperg, Hofburg Redoutensaal and Musikverein in Vienna, Teatro Real and Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, Rudolfinum and Smetana halls in Prague, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Wellington in London, Tchaikovsky hall in Moscow, Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest, Lieder Halle in Stuttgart, Gasteig and Herkules Saal in Munich, National Concert Hall in Beijing, Kolarak in Belgrade, Chopin Auditorium in Warsaw, Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Salle Pleyel and Salle Gaveau in Paris, and the Suntory Hall and the Bunka Kay kan in Tokyo in Japan.

He has an extensive discography with more than 40 albums recorded for labels such as Sony Classical, Denon, Novalis, Delos Int., Saphir, Capriccio, etc.

Considered by Jean -Pierre Rampal as “one of the finest flautists of his generation”, they record and perform together around the world for many years, becaming the heir to a style of interpreting and understanding the art of music.

Claudi Arimany plays the emblematic W.S Haynes gold flute that belonged to J.P. Rampal.
