Licensing music – FAQ

When licensing a piece of music, you will need to consider a few factors to get an accurate quote. Please look at the questions below and think about the requirements for your project.

Which piece? Do you know the exact work (composer, movement, arrangement, musicians) or are you looking for a string quartet with a particular tempo or style.

Use – 1 minute, 30 seconds etc (also scene description)
Media – All media, online, film, tv, cinema, advert, cd compilation etc
Term – 1 year, 10 years, in-perpetuity
Territory – Worldwide (or just one specific country or region).
