Alexander Panfilov is a laureate of numerous international piano competitions, including the Rina Sala Gallo in Monza, the Premio Jaén, the Hastings Piano Concerto Competition, the Premio Accademia Romana, the James Mottram, Taranto, Viotti, Brant and, most recently, the inaugural Harbin International Music Competition.
Alexander Panfilov was born in Moscow and gave his debut recital for the Moscow Philharmonic Society in 2010, and in the US at the Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall in New York. Since then, he has performed extensively around the world, in venues including the Musikverein in Vienna, the Zurich Tonhalle, Wigmore Hall in London, Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory and the St Petersburg Philharmonia.
As a soloist he has performed with orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, the Granada City Orchestra, the Belarusian State Philharmonic, and the Manchester Camerata, among others. He has broadcast on RNE, BBC Radio 3, Classic FM, Radio SRF and on Medici TV.
