ALEXANDRE DA COSTA
Winner of many national and international first prizes, Alexandre Da Costa has performed worldwide in major halls such as the Musikverein in Vienna, the Berlin Philharmonie, Carnegie Hall in New York, and played with prestigious orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Montreal Symphony, the Berlin Symphony, the Vienna Symphony, the Prague Philharmonic and the Toronto Symphony.
He has worked with conductors such as Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Lorin Maazel, Leonard Slatkin, Matthias Bamert, Vasily Petrenko and Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Among Da Costa’s chamber music colleagues have been Menahem Pressler and Elisabeth Leonskaja.
As a recording artist, he has more than 25 solo albums, among them, his Juno Award-winning recording of the concertos by American composer Michael Daugherty for Warner Classics.
Alexandre Da Costa now plays the ‘Di Barbaro’ Stradivarius of 1727 and a Sartory bow, loaned by Canimex.
