Ana María Valderrama has established herself as one of the most acclaimed Spanish violinists of our time. In 2011, she became the first Spanish violinist to win First Prize and the Special Audience Prize in the XI International Violin Competition Pablo Sarasate. She has also won other important competitions, including the Lisbon International Violin Competition, the VI Certamen de Interpretación Intercentros Melomano (Madrid), the Primer Palau (Barcelona) and the Novosibirsk International Violin Competition. Ana María Valderrama has performed worldwide both as a soloist and in chamber music recitals. Many of her concerts have been broadcast on Spanish TV and radio, and her first album À mon ami Sarasate has obtained several awards and distinctions. Ana María Valderrama studied violin at the Ferraz Conservatory of Madrid and at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía, graduating with the highest distinction. She completed her master’s studies at the Hochschule für Musik ‘Hanns Eisler’ and at the UDK in Berlin. Since 2013 she has taught violin at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música in Madrid.
