The violinist and countertenor, Dmitry Sinkovsky, graduated from Moscow Conservatory in 2005. A meeting at that time with Baroque violinist and early music pioneer Marie Leonhardt convinced him to change course and concentrate on historical performance practice.
He has won first prizes at the Leipzig Bach Competition (2006), the Bruges Musica Antiqua Competition (2008) and the Magdeburg Telemann Competition (2011). Sinkovsky continues to perform extensively in Europe, the United States, Canada and Australia.
He heads the ensemble La Voce Strumentale, which he founded in Moscow in 2011, and works with some of the finest Baroque orchestras today, including Il Giardino Armonico, the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra and B’Rock. He has recorded several prize-winning albums for Naive.
