Joaquín Clemente Riera was born in Buñol (Valencia) and studied the double bass at the Conservatorio Superior de Valencia and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. He has played in several Spanish orchestras including the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León where he is co-principal double bass.
Clemente is an active chamber musician and a founder member of the Ensemble Kammart, playing with many different chamber groups such as the Aron Quartett at the Festival Schönberg in Vienna, and the Galdós Ensemble, or with artists such as Ivan Martin, Sharon Bezaly and Mayte Martín.
As a soloist, he has performed recitals with his Dúo Melés as well as performing as a concert bassist in Spain and the United Kingdom. He was the soloist in the world premiere performance of Humoresca by Lorenzo Palomo.
Joaquín Clemente Riera teaches at the Conservatorio Superior de Castilla y León.
