MARCO RAPETTI

After graduating from the Conservatory of Genoa, Marco Rapetti received his diploma cum laude at the Accademia Perosi in Biella, where he studied for three years with Aldo Ciccolini. He then furthered his musical studies in the United States on a Fulbright scholarship, undertaking postgraduate studies (MM and DMA) at The Juilliard School in New York.

Rapetti has been awarded many prizes in national and international competitions, and has released albums for various labels, including the complete piano works of several Russian and French composers for Brilliant Classics.

Rapetti began his teaching activity at the Milan Conservatory and the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, and served as a teaching assistant at The Juilliard School. He has been a visiting professor at the University of Hawaii and at the conservatories of Eisenstadt, Sydney, Las Palmas and Seville. He is currently a full-time professor at the Cherubini Conservatory in Florence.

He has published articles on pedagogy and musicology in specialised music magazines, and in 2018 his book entitled Scriabin and the Sound-Light was published by Firenze University Press.
