The Spanish conductor Óliver Díaz is musical and artistic director of the Gijon Symphony Orchestra (OSIGi) and the Barbieri Symphony Orchestra (BSO). In 2002 he became the first Spanish musician—and the only one to date—selected, admitted and awarded the Bruno Walter Scholarship for orchestral conducting to study at the New York Juilliard School of Music. With his dual skills of conductor and soloist he has given piano recitals and conducted from the podium in Spain, Europe, the United States and South America. To date he has over ten CDs and DVDs to his credit, produced for Subterfuge Records, Infnity Studios, La Factoria Records, GijónDnota, Elemental Films, Warner Music Spain and 18 Chulos Records.
