Born in 1968, Tobias Koch has been fascinated by the musical possibilities of historical keyboard instruments since the beginning of his career, garnering critical praise. He has appeared as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist in leading European festivals, taught at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf and the academies of Verbier and Montepulciano, and was a music award winner in Düsseldorf. He was encouraged by master classes with David Levine, Jos van Immerseel and Claire Chevallier, among others. He has given frequent radio and television appearances, and authored publications on performance practice, rhetoric and musical aesthetics. He has made some 25 recordings with works by Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Chopin, Liszt, Wagner and Brahms.
