Tomasz Ritter’s musical career began in 2002 at the age of seven, when he began studying with Bożena Bechta-Krzemińska at the Karol Lipiński Primary and Secondary Music School in Lublin. In 2008 he became a pupil of Irina Rumiancewa-Dąbrowska at the Karol Szymanowski State Music School in Warsaw before going on to study at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Alexei Lubimov. Since 2019 he has been studying at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg under Hubert Rutkowski.
As a pianist, Ritter’s emphasis is on working with historic keyboard instruments, and he has expanded his kno wledge in this area through courses with Peter Šefl, Johannes Sonnleitner, Malcolm Bilson, Andreas Staier and Tobias Koch. Ritter has won numerous competitions, including the 9th International Competition for Young Pianists Arthur Rubinstein in Memoriam in Bydgoszcz (2011), and the 1st International Chopin Competition on Period Instruments (2018). He performs internationally, and has released albums through Polskie Nagrania and the Fryderyk Chopin Institute.
