Raymond Tuttle
Fanfare, September 2018

Anderson & Roe are familiar to many for their eclectic repertory (previously, they’ve “done” Michael Jackson and Radiohead next to more classical fare) and for their creative music videos. They love to show off how well they play, and it’s pretty clear they like music to reach an emotional boiling point. …Serious music lovers may want to limit themselves to the Rachmaninoff, which is nicely done, and demonstrates that Anderson & Roe are more than just attractive faces and gimmicks. © 2018 Fanfare Read complete review

The WholeNote, September 2018

Anderson & Roe, possess the highest form of originality combined with a gob-smacking keyboard technique that reimagines Lennon/McCartney, Paul Simon, Louis Armstrong and Freddie Mercury with both skill and panache.

Their advanced understanding of structure and form in everything imaginable from fugues to gospel blues reveals their deep respect for the material as well as a womb of pure genius in which their arrangements are conceived. Grieg, Dvořák, Schubert and Brahms fare equally well in this duo’s creative hands. You should be running out to get this disc, right about now. © 2018 The WholeNote Read complete review

Our Favorite Albums of 2018 So Far

The piano duo of Anderson and Roe (not married) explore all manner of musical takes on mothers and motherhood from expected classical fare like Brahms’ Lullaby, and Dvorak’s Songs My Mother Taught Me, to some fun surprises like Paul Simon’s Mrs. Robinson, and their own arrangement of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. © 2018 KDFC Radio
