Poulenc’s association with the contemporary French theatre is shown in his incidental music to two plays by Jean Anouilh, the first known to English audiences as Ring Round the Moon and the second, less familiar, as Time Remembered. His witty musical version of Jean de Brunhoff’s tale of Babar the Little Elephant is included in its original French and in English.
