MDR KLASSIK is the new classical label of MITTELDEUTSCHER RUNDFUNK (MDR) and its Leipzig Radio symphony orchestra and Radio Choir, launched in August 2012. The Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra is Germany’s oldest radio orchestra and the MDR Leipzig Radio Choir is the country’s largest broadcasting station choir. Both can be heard regularly in the concert hall and in radio and television broadcasts, performing a wide-ranging repertoire. Outstanding concerts and performances by these dynamic and innovative ensembles, including rarely heard works, are now available to all fans and music lovers on the new MDR Klassik label.
