The world's biggest music festival opens on 14 July with the First Night of the BBC Promenade Concerts, staged in London's Royal Albert Hall. Running for a full eight weeks, this action-packed music marathon ends with the celebrated Last Night of the Proms, which takes place this year on 9 September.
