New Years with Nishizaki
On February 7th and 8th, Takako Nishizaki performed to a full house at City Hall in Hong Kong in a celebration of the lunar New Year, the Year of the Ram.
Nishizaki performed Chinese classics and folk melodies, accompanied by the Hong Kong Philharmonic, under the direction of Maestro Peter Breiner. Immediately following the concerts, Nishizaki and Breiner met with the crowds of music enthusiasts to autograph CDs and celebrate the New Year.

Life of Alexander Moyzes Celebrated in Museum Exhibit
The influential life and works of Alexander Moyzes are featured this spring in On the Road of Professionalism, a in-depth exhibition presented by the Music Museum of the Slovak National Museum in Bratislava, Slovakia. Moyzes was considered one of the most significant figures in the development of modern Slovak culture. The exhibit focuses on his music, including his forays into avant-garde techniques and folk traditions, as well as his substantial contributions to music education in Slovakia and the symphonic development of Czechoslovak Radio.
Naxos Dominates German Market Share
Statistics recently released by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) revealed Naxos as the leading distributor of classical repertoire available in the German music market for 2002. Naxos Deutschland, which distributes several labels including Haenssler and MDG in addition to Naxos and Marco Polo releases, accounted for thirty percent of the available classical CD titles with a total of 8, 152 titles.
