Soyeon Lee Wins Naumburg International Piano Competition 2010

Pianist and Naxos artist Soyeon Lee has won first prize in this year’s Naumburg International Piano Competition, which entails a cash award of $10,000 and two recitals in New York City, as well as many performances throughout the USA. The young Korean musician has already been hailed by The New York Times as a pianist with ‘a huge, richly varied sound, a lively imagination and a firm sense of style’, while The Washington Post has lauded her for her ‘stunning command of the keyboard’. Her Naxos recording of Scarlatti Sonatas has been critically acclaimed.

Soyeon Lee Biography & Discography

Naxos has reached Volume 13 in its series of recordings of Domenico Scarlatti’s Complete Keyboard Sonatas. The latest volume, featuring pianist Chu-Fang Huang and currently available for downloading as a digital album, will be issued on CD in October 2010.
